To create a keyboard hot key for a game, follow these steps...

From the Controller Configurations window, you will see a toolbar with several icons in the lower-right corner of the window. Move the mouse over the icon that looks like a keyboard and then click on it to display the Edit Hot Keys window.

Press the 'New' button to add a new keyboard hot key to the list. You will see the 'New Keyboard Hot Key' item has been added.

Modify the name of the new keyboard hot key to describe the action it will perform (such as 'Switch Configuration' or 'Change Weapon').

If you have not already created all of the standard commands that you will need to create the keyboard hot keys, you can modify the standard commands now by pressing the 'Commands...' button to display the Edit Commands window. Once you have all of the commands that you need for the keyboard hot keys, proceed to the next step.

Select the hot key trigger from the dropdown box. If the 'Capture Keyboard' box is currently checked then you can just press any key on your keyboard to quickly select that keyboard key as the hot key trigger.

Click the assignment label to display the assignment popup menu. Select the command that you would like to be fired when the keyboard hot key is pressed..

Select the configurations that the keyboard hot key should apply to from the lower dropdown box. If you would like to have the hot key active in any configuration for this profile, then select the 'All Configurations' item from the list.

Press the 'OK' button to close the Edit Hot Keys window. The new keyboard hot key is now ready and can now be used in your configurations.
