Profile for Trimble SketchUp 2013
Formerly known as Google SketchUp
Made for viewing models already made and can be viewed as a 3D model using any gaming devices.
SketchUp was invented back in 1999 by a couple of 3D industry veterans
(or refugees, depending on your perspective) to make it easier for people to
see their ideas in three dimensions. That was it, really ó they just wanted to
make a piece of software that anyone could use to build 3D models. What I
saw in Arkansas makes me think they were successful. ...it was acquired by Google in March 14, 2006... [Excerpt taken from Google SketchUp for Dummies]
SketchUp was developed by startup company @Last Software of Boulder, Colorado, co-founded in 1999 by Brad Schell and Joe Esch.
On June 1, 2012, Trimble acquired SketchUp from Google.
