Here is my personal configuration for video player VLC, which I made the most useful for me.
Play / Pause -> A
Stop -> BACK
Next -> B
Precedent -> C
Full Screen -> Y
10' Forward -> RIGHT SHOULDER
10' Backward -> LEFT SHOULDER
Play Quicker -> RIGHT TRIGGER
Play Slower -> LEFT TRIGGER
Volume Up -> UP D-PAD
Volume Down -> DOWN D-PAD
Open -> LEFT JOYSTICK BUTTON
Switch Tab -> RIGHT / LEFT D-PAD ( SHIFT+TAB / TAB )
Move -> LEFT JOYSTICK ( MAPPED TO ARROW KEYS )
Multi Selection -> RIGHT JOYSTICK BUTTON ( SHIFT )
Enter -> START
Mouse Control -> RIGHT JOYSTICK ( MISC. )
Doesn't look easy to use but it is actually very instinctive :)
