    Over the Rainbow

Someday we will get to enjoy 5.0! I'm so happy with what Pinnacle Game Profiler already offers and can't wait to see what 5.0 lets people do resulting in quality profiles that I use all the time here! I just started replaying S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl with a very well done profile and its almost like playing a new game! It just rocks!

But enough of that and aside, is there a tenetive feature list that can be released? Just a few tidbits to make us happier! Did controller-to-controller (PS3, etc - to - X360 remapping for GFWL games) emulation make the cut? Anything! But if not we'll see soon enough too!

    Thank you.

Well here is a partial list, but this would only be for the first beta... it's possible that many of the bigger features could be pushed off a bit because there have already been so many delays. So I might just release v5.x and then move toward v6.x right away with the new features... yet it would still be the same amount of time it's going to take, just to say that I might release an official version as v5.x and then make the plans for v5.0 to be v6.0 when they are really 100% polished.

One of the main things in v5.x here not really listed below, but what has been so significant in the time it's taking me, is that I've had to completely restructure things internally and externally so that I can fit the features I want to add in the upcoming versions... Pinnacle started out much smaller than it is today, and I've been able to flexibily expand it even though many of the ideas now present were not conceived in the original design. And so it really started to out-grow it's framework, which is why v5.x will have a complete restructuring of how things are handled internally and externally (which is hard enough, but I also have to consider users that are brand new versus users that are moving from older versions).

Anyway, here are some of the things that should be included, but as I mentioned it is not neccessarily a complete list...

    1. New Wiimote Library which is MUCH faster and more efficient with improved compatibility
    2. Improved MAP TO MOUSE SPRING to work better in full-screen games
    3. Display controller layout with printing
    4. Some new icons and graphics
    5. Apply a "deadzone" to the triggers by decreasing Axis Range of an Individual Axis (as suggested by g.ayers)
    6. Export all your profiles at once
    7. Rearranged menu items to help organize and prepare for more "compound commands"
    8. Important bug fix for "disappearing SHIFT toggle" button some users have reported
    9. Environmental variables like %APPPATH%, %APPDATA%, and %PROGRAMFILES% can now be used in event step paths
    10. New layout design for more intuitive interface
    11. Background data storage modifications to speed up future development of new features
    12. Expansion of "Toolbox" with room to grow
    13. Fixed display for some Windows Themes that didn't look as expected
    14. Renaming of some terminology to make things more clear for new users (as expanding features had made some of this confusing)
    15. Introduction of MULTIPLE SHIFT-STATES, there are now 4 shift-buttons that you can use alone or in combinations (of course you can still hot-swap)
    16. Data has been reformatted to allow rapid updating and provide room to store new features (such as the multiple shift-states)
    17. Previously shifted and unshifted commands shared the same "d-pad style" but now you can set different styles for different shift-states
    18. New "Behavior Modification" system that will allow for many cool new "fast-features" and other unique customizations
-- To be more specific, those "behaviors" includes --
    19. Enable as Sticky Button
    20. Enable as Rapid-Fire Button
    21. Enable as Sniper Assistant
    -----------------------------------------------------
    22. Fix to prevent the failure of updates on PinnacleUpdate that some users were seeing
    23. You can now assign a command to the same button as shift-mode button
    24. Fix for 64-bit processes to allow proper auto-detect and apply
    25. Fix for wireless controllers on Vista 64 for idle-sleep crash

Also I'm working with someone else to update the website for a much more interactive site with tutorials and videos and such... plus the forum is moving from phpBB to vBulletin (that might actually happen tonight or tommorrow). So lot's of stuff going on, lot's to keep me busy...

    Thank you.

So many developers act like feature revisions are classified or something. So, thank you for the breath of fresh air and just taking a moment and satisfying the curiosity of your customers. I recommened Pinnacle Game Profiler to everyone I think could use it for that exact reason: your customers are able to be in touch for you. On other forums there may be a "Question for the Team" forum that occasionally a developer interacts with. You are different. You take feedback from customers and directly put corrections and features back into the source tree. Its an open model and it fits PGP perfectly. If this was eBay, I'd say quintuple stars, would buy again! :P

Thank you for being such a great outfit.

Cool...Glad to see that deadzone on an axis made it in. 4 shifts + the ability to combine a command with a shift sounds like a VERY powerfull feature. Now I won't have to setup those mind boggling SHIFT STYLE cycle commands .
