    PGP and steam

Hi, I like to start my games directly in steam but when I do so pgp doesn't apply the game profile. When I drop the exe file on the shortcut dropzone I can play with my controller when I start the game via the exe file, but not when I start it in steam. When I chose a game in the menu that shows all my steam games it doesn't work at all.

How do I have to add a game so I can start it in steam and use my controller?

If you put the steam launch ID into the exe location in pinnacle it works 8/10 times. For example putting steam://rungameid/12210 into pinnacle would direct it to GTA IV, and would let you launch it from your steam list with the profile being applied

That's what I tried, it didn't work for both games I tried (binding of Isaac and lone survivor).

Never mind, I tried pgp a couple of minutes and it is just too slow. It looks like it can't handle too many inputs. When i play the binding of Isaac I have to release all buttons after a few seconds. The character then performs the last inputs, I can't play this game with this issue.

Anyway, thanks for your quick reply.

Hmmm... I don't know what you are talking about when you say it's too slow... the entire shift-mode can be released in less than 0.1 second (that's commands for 12 or more buttons, and 4x each of the 2 joysticks, and 4-8 more for the dpad. If you wanna give up on PGP, that's fine of course... but whatever you are seeing is definitely not setup properly or something cause PGP is blazing fast when it comes to pressing and releasing keys.

Also for Alec's comment that it works "about 8/10 times", I'd say whatever was not working before was due to a recently resolved bug, so use PinnacleUpdate to get the latest version and I think you will definitely see it work without any problem on any steam game.

Am I reading this incorrectly but running a game from Steam with a profile linked to pinnacle will never auto-start the profile for me. Not worked once, latest I've tried was The Witcher Enhanced Edition Director's Cut but no joy.

If I start PGP then launch the specific profile there with the mouse it will launch the game in Steam fine, but pretty much defeats the object of linking it to the Steam library in the first place.

You can have it auto-apply on a Steam game... you just need to go to GAME PROFILES > EDIT and point to the exe that starts after the game is launched through steam. So if you check your Task Manager, you probably see something like "witcher.exe"... on GAME PROFILES > EDIT you want that to be your DetectExe and then the profile will automatically start when that exe is seen running (just like the system works outside of Steam). It is very difficult for PGP to predict what the exe is that Steam will launch based on the applaunch url code... although a system is being worked on that will make it so that PGP can know what these are for the most popular games so you won't have to figure it out yourself (in fact it already does that for some games, but a much more robust solution is in the works for release in the near future)
