Southpaw Profile
Hi guys,
I would like to know how to make a southpaw profile for a game that natively supports the xbox 360 controller for PC but doesn't allow a southpaw configuration in-game or doesn't allow re-mapping of joysticks/buttons. Specifically I'm trying to make a profile for Alan Wake, the best I've been able to do is swap the joysticks but each joystick now is acting as camera movement and walking forward/back and strafing left/right at the same time.
Any help guys?

Ok, if you haven't done so already, the best way to do this is probably to go to GAME PROFILES > NEW and then create your "Alan Wake" profile there (by pointing to the game's main exe... use the shortcut dropzone if you are having trouble finding it). Once you have the exe, click OK and PGP should prompt you to ask if you want to apply a template, and there you should choose xbox360 emulator template.
Next click the EDIT CONFIGURATIONS button and the just try clicking the assignment label next to "A BUTTON" and choose DX OVERRIDE > XINPUT BUTTON > XI BUTTON 2 (B). This should have effectively given you 2 buttons that do the same thing, and lose the 1 button. So in other words, instead of having the normal A BUTTON & B BUTTON signals... you should now have B BUTTON signals coming from both A and B. This is just to test to the game hook... start your game and see if it does in fact respond that way (without interference).
Hopefully that makes sense... the goal here is just to test the "game hook" functionality (which unfortunately is not yet compatible with all games, but usually works with most XINPUT games). If all seems to work as expected there, then I can explain how to flip the joysticks. And of course you don't have to use A & B for this test, you can try to override any of your buttons with a different XINPUT signal, this is just to test how the game responds.

Thx for the reply,
however now after deleting what profile I had going before and starting fresh and have done exactly like you said, no matter what I try to change the game doen't register any of the changes I've made. I understand the configuration screen and assigning/swapping the XINPUT commands, but nothing just seems to register now. Maybe its just this game is not compatible??

Go to GAME PROFILES > EDIT and on the ADVANCED tab make sure that the "game hook" is installed... PGP should prompt you when you start the profile for the first time, so maybe it did that already, but the hook must be installed for it to work.

Hi Rob,
Game hook was not installed but after installing it, it still makes no difference...
EDIT: Also my copy of Alan Wake is the steam version, would that affect PGP in any way?

No your Alan Wake Steam version will not be affected by PGP in any way. However the game hook installed by PGP seems to be overridden by the game's native support. If you own another controller like the Logitech Rumble-pad 2 or any similar type controller, the game should not see the controller. Then you can remap your controls the way you so desire.
