Thumbs down Xtra Button on the Xbox Controller

Pinnical Game Profiler Does not pick up the Xbox button on the Xbox controller as a button, it ignors it conmpletely.

I'm using MotionInJoy for my SixAxis PS3 Controller, I use it as an Emu, and so my PC thinks It's an Xbox controller, the computer includes the PS button as a proper button, so you can use it as an extra button to do a comb or something.

I could map the controller to the keyboard and mouse (K&B) (instead of emulating a Xbox controller), but then when I play Crysis Wars I cannot join Gamepad only servers. But when I try to map the controls for the (emulated) Xbox controller, the Xbox button is not there. it's not important at this point, but I'd like to be able to use it as an extra button.

Is there already a way to change this, or can Pinnacle please make an update for this?

Also Pinnicale detects the PS controller as a normal controller, with no real problems, but it does not detect the motion sensors as an extra control. so I cannot use the L2 nor the R2 buttons as an analog axis if I want to use the motion sensors.

The motion sensors are also not detected properly, so the axis is always a 0%/100% no matter how hard you throw the controller around, or tilt it.

All these problems bother me in a small way, so if Pinnacle can fix these problems in a new update, that would be great!

Well Microsoft has made the Xbox button on the Xbox360 controller a proprietary button that cannot be read through standard means... they've basically reserved it for their own use. Off hand I'm not sure how that may be different when the controller is really a PS3 controller emulating the Xbox360 controller... I'll have to look into it again but doesn't PGP display 13 buttons for your PS3 controller (emulating xbox360 or not)?

As for the motion sensors, well I'd like to see support for them one day, but that isn't so simple to add (properly) and the reasonable use in a profile is probably pretty obscure. Of course as mentioned, it would be great if it were available, but I only have so much development time and there are lots of other more features that I think will benefit a lot more users than devoting a lot of time for the PS3 motion sensors. I'd say yes, one day it will be supported, but not any time soon...

I know you said your using a ps3 controller, but I just wanted to chime in that the only way I've ever seen the xbox 360's guide button funtion as a regular button was with japanese drivers.

Oh, and hello everyone I know it's been awhile.

if the button can run the little status popup that it does on your display i'm sure that it can be detected. now, how deep is the hole u have to look it to detect it idk.

Is it any easier to have the profiler just disable the extra Xbox button altogether? I can't find a way to do that in the Microsoft Xbox 360 Accessories Software (tm) and I'm so tired of having the little popup kill me by stealing focus from my game window that I'm having trouble refraining from expletives.

zapakh: i haven't found a way to turn that completely off either. but it usually doesn't cause me any problems. try making sure that you're running in "full screen mode" double check that you are in your game options. if i remember correctly it's pre set to not function the pop-up when you're in full screen modes. may very from game to game. what game u having problems with?

It was a browser-based game that I don't think looks good full-screen. Pinnacle works well with it, but it means the extra button gives me trouble. I have the start button mapped to "Teleport to the safe haven because I'm about to die" and you can well imagine what happens when I miss.

ye then it probably wouldn't help you. hmm ye. i dont think anything short of changing away from browser games is going to help you. getting info from microsoft on the fix for that would be "no."
