    Question Wiimote + OnLive = No IR-Mouse?

    Summary:
Wii-IR Mouse movements works in OnLive's menu's/lobbies but once I launch a game on OnLive, like FEAR2, FEAR3, World of Goo, etc., then the mouse movements stop working for the wii mote profile..

However, if i move my regular mouse around that works fine in onlive and when i use a PGP xbox360 profile to move the mouse via the analog sticks that works as well.. So we know that PGP is capable of rendering the mouse while in any of OnLive's games.. It's just the IR for the wiimote won't once a game launches.

So why does the Wiimote's IR mouse emulation in PGP not function in any OnLive game but all other PGP mousemovements do?

    Examples:
*using PGP: xbox360 analog set to emulate mouse = Works in onlive game
*Using PGP: Wii-mote buttons or tilts or analog sticks set to emulate mouse = Works in onlive game

btw, I also have a Razer Hydra and that works perfectly in any of OnLive's games too for mouse movements.

It seems like your IR Motion isn't sending commands that OnLive is expecting for running a game.. Perhaps when a game launches OnLive expects some extra directX code or something and the PGP team forgot to set that.

    I'm just guessing.

I can use the Wii-motes IR to navigate windows and play League of Legends.
    Such an odd bug

I don't see how that could make any difference, the IR is just a hardware communication so it really has nothing to do with whatever else is going on with the PC (ie, whatever game is playing). I think you should try going to GAME PROFILES > EDIT and try enabling the persistent profile setting to see if that helps.

nope. doesn't work. and it shouldn't because everything in onlive is just a solid video stream.. there are no other applications that it switches to-and-from. It's not like steam where games are actually installed on your machine.

you really should test it and see for yourself. It's so weird.

onlive is a very tiny program and lets you access tons of cloud-streamed games that never install on your system.. so it's like the netflix of gaming.. nothing but the client is ever on your pc. it can't hurt anything. it's a free service. you can demo anything an inifinite number of times for 30 minutes just for testing what i'm saying here.

The i see the pointer move around any time i see their menu's/dashboard but the ingame mouse pointers for each game never move..
but if i move my real mouse around it moves then.. and if i put the wiimote down and pick up the xbox controller and run pinnacles analog-mouse emulation that actually works as well!

so there is obviously something in your program that treats mouse emulation differently when using the IR versus your same program emulating a mouse through joystick movements

    please go try. www.onlive.com
install it.. then run any of your xbox profiles that have the analog stick move the mouse.. then test out the IR on the wiimote to do the same with your wii profile.. and you will find that the IR wont work in a game but it will in their dashboards only... and you will see that your xbox profile does work.

and i use the same main profile for both.. because my profile is called "OnLive". And i make several configs for each controller for that same profile. It's all under one umbrella. And everything with pinnacle works great with onlive.. up until i tested IR functionality with a wiimote in a game

Oh yeah. I forgot to mention that i also used that very same Wii-mote profile to test moving the mouse with the wiimotes other abilities.. like analog stick or tilt motions.. everything moves that mouse BUT the IR

yet as soon as i alt-tab or bring up onlive's dashboard i see the IR moving fine.

please see for yourself. I want you to see how crazy this is.
