    removed due to 'copyright infringement'

Microsoft has also sent copyright infringement takedown notice to Engadget:

    looks like it's real.

I don't really think a next gen console is really needed yet, I still think its too soon, as for decline of sales, well, I think that has a lot of factors on why that is, including too many games that are similar, publishers doing sequels and remakes, etc

this of course will continue in the 8 gen consoles, I don't see what benefits really a 8 gen console will really do? also games are over priced, as is the hardware, I feel the decline of sales is down to publishers then anything else. yes the mobile apps like the ipad are taking off too, but I still think unless games become cheaper, and more diverse, and longer, and more enjopyable, then even the 8 gen games will decline in time,

but overall, its just too soon for the consoles, too soon,

E3 this year was dismal... without the announcement of MS and Sony next-gen consoles. The videogame industry is in desperate need of a jolt! ..sales have flat-line.

    http://www.gamesindustry.biz/article...own-28-percent

console gaming is really taking a hit, next gen systems should have come out this year. Nintendo got the timing right with the WiiU.

And it is pretty telling to see a PC game at the number one spot this month.... A retail PC game no less... retail PC gaming (AKA: physical boxed copies) has been on life support for years now.

I think not all of the may top ten games are that good

Diablo 3, yes it has sold a lot of copies, but people bought it on the strengh of the name, and that it is blizzard, but the game has serious problems, always online, and the servers do come down often, account hacking, and the drop rates of items balanced around the RMAH / GAH also lack of customisation, the same has taken a major hit on places like metacritic and amazon with many people saying they don't like the game for many reasons

Max Payne 3 PV version a very bad console port, many people are having problems with this game for one reason or another, and there are a few saying MP 1 and 2 are way better, better story and levels

at the end of the day, if publishers leep releasing broken games, or shoddy games, or shorter games with little content then sell over priced DLC to fill in the content that should have been there from the beginning then decline of full priced games will drop. 8 gen consoles will not solve this, as its publishers that are really killing the industry. they have such a strangle hold over triple A titles now, that many games just aren't worth playing. I really enjoyed MP 1 and 2, not touched 3, nor will I, the PC version is riddled with problems.

I think PC gaming has a future with kicstarter, if that remains sucessful. this is where most new games, original ideas and gaming will now come from, as publishers will kill of any triple A gaming by not doing original stuff, how many times will people play the same COD? or BF? there will be a limit, but this is what publishers want, sure, BF3 did sell, but I wonder if the next one really will? or the next COD? if there is a major decline of sales, and publishers feel it, then they have themselves only to brain by killing gaming, making crapper and crapper more dumbed down games as the years go on

what more is there to say?

but if they want to save the industry, they got to start funding better games, and stop killing studios that they control (Looking at you EA!) until they allow more time for games to mature and stop pushing them out of the door before they are ready, (games) and invest in more original titles and what not, otherwise people will get tired of playing the same games over and over and look else where, and if people see what is out for the 8 gen consoles ans say "but we already played a BF3 on the Xbox 360, why do I need to play a BF4? or a COD 10 or a horrible game that only lasts a few hours?

then people won't bother, and the sales will continue to decline

these graphs tell another interesting story

    http://www.gamesindustry.biz/article...paign=us-daily

and shows both EA and take two taking massive losses

there are several reasons for this
one SWTOR which is pretty much a flop, the game clearly not doing as well as EA had hoped, but a lot of work went into the voice acting, I have a friend that plays this game, on the EU servers, and many of them are light, not many on those servers, while a few are heavy, most aren't, and EA paid a lot towards this game

but still, like I said before the other reasons are the company itself, they are simply damaging the gaming industry, for a long time buying up companies then making them **** or close them down, so while EA do have a lot of IPs, when they do reuse an IP like syndicate, they turn it into a mediocre console port, or just very average at best. they are a cancer in gaming, and to see them lose a lot of money is a good thing, or should I said their share prices fallen is a good thing. maybe the company will sit up and take notice of the damage it's doing, but I feel that is unlikely. I think Kickstarter will be the direction that PC gaming will go in, and cut away from big publishers that are turning their back on making good PC games. plus I really don't think the 8 gen systems will help, there was a BBC news article on the up coming systems and many say that without the second hand trade, quite a few children will not be able to afford the new games. plus bandwidth will be a major issue, as not all UK ISP have unlimited bandwidth, so if the games are what, 20 + gig a pop, then that will be a lot to download, yes there is cloud gaming that allows you to download so much then start playing, but even this will use a fair amount of bandwidth. so I really don't see the 8 gen systems working, which will hurt publishers more, as they will try and get all their games to the digital route

but EA needs to die, they are a very bad publisher, if this trend of them losing money / share prices continue, then they won't be such a powerhouse anymore, and maybe help smaller publishers to do better quality games. but I think EA should sell some of its IPs / titles to other publishers and smaller developers and maybe then we will see a turn to better quality games then the trash that publishers are spewing out now

I long to see EA change or die, or fall from grace so that it can no longer have such a strangle hold over gaming. the less EA published titles that appear the better

well the big press annoyance / press conference was shown over on http://www.xbox.com/en-GB/Index

I watched this with a few friends on irc

    first impressions,

the console (if you can even call it that) is basically a media centre, able to show live tv, films, able to use skype, and a lot of other stuff, its specs is pretty similar to the ps4

it was one drab boring show, they didn't show any gameplay footage, and there was COD ghosts, which has you playing as an underdog, (big deal) and the story isn't exciting to say the least, but even before then, it was how the console will interact with live TV, that took utter ages, brought in some big names EA been one, to announce SPORTS GAMES!! (yawn) and how they are going to make the games better by by putting the games on a new engine and well make you feel all intellectual while playing them (yawn) after a lot of CGI, and even more CGI, a long boring periods with different people talking but all saying the same old crap, Im not amused

oh yes, the name of the console is no longer xbox720 oh no, it has an exciting new name, one that makes you want it very badly, and guess what the new name is? bet you can't

    Xbox one

yup, what a utter drab name, instead of making the console feel its next gen, they pretty much gone back in time to copy Sony, remember the PS1? well now we have Xbox1 and there will be a new version of xbox live, and even more bs on top

all in all, it was BS, even Sony did better with their conference, so when will this shiny new box come out I hear you ask? sometime later this year, so no exact release date at all,

all in all very boring, console looks big and ugly, nothing on price, or when its coming out, just a lot of tech demos and CGI, and more CGI

    basically, utter bull

one final thing, it seems that the rumour that the xbox will require an always on connection is false, BUT, its muddy here, as the console can connect to a server to help run games, (cloud gaming) you will need to install the game to play it and it will block second hand games as all games will be tied to your account (what happens if you lose or break the disk etc? does that mean you have to buy the game again?) but in the end, I hope this console / media system is a flop, it just seems its geared toward been a media system, even the PS4 might end up been a better option for a few

all in all not impressed to say the least and more will be coming to E3, so what people will see there is anyone's guess, probably more over hyped CGI demos I would say

so yeah, a long conference but doesn't say anything at all

    edit

    OK this gets more interesting

    http://kotaku.com/xbox-one-does-requ...ay-o-509164109

get to the point where it says

    And here's the bombshell:
Kotaku: If I’m playing a single player game, do I have to be online at least once per hour or something like that? Or can I go weeks and weeks?
    Harrison: I believe it’s 24 hours.
Kotaku: I’d have to connect online once every day.
    Harrison: Correct.

    ...........................................

got to say that is very bad indeed, so even if you want to play a SP game, you still need to connect to the internet at least once per day to carry on using it

I can see this causing a lot of problems, not just those that don't have access to decent internet or wants to connect it to it, not everywhere has decent high speed internet either, and this thing seems you do need a high speed one,

so now Im sure MS will be in damage control, so it does seem the rumour that the console requires always on is fairly true, even if you don't need connected 100% but still requires one to function at some point, so I guess if it doesn't get a connection, it will fail to function, on top of the fact, the new Kinect needs to be in all the time, so MS will be seeing whats in your house / rooms , who playing, that kind of thing, I really hope this is a flop, I really do, but I wonder what bull MS will try abnd come up with to control the damage? as this is a pretty big bombshell don't you think?
