    Issues running in Windows 7

Hey Rob/mods. I just made the move to Windows 7 (finally!), and ofcourse the first thing I did was install PGP. Everything seems to be working as it should except for one major issue. I'm hoping I'm not the first to stumble onto it, as I have a tendency to do that.

I use the winprofiler as opposed to an actual mouse, have been doing so with PGP for years and I'll never go back. The issue is, whenever I get several windows into an application, I lose control over the mouse. I'll give you a couple of examples:

    1) I go to control panel, add/remove programs, I select a program to uninstall, then when the window pops up asking me to repair/modify or uninstall, mouse control dies. PGP seems to go innactive. Only way to get it back is to start the task manager, or use an actual mouse and close the uninstall window.

    2) Coming to this forum for the first time on a new system, it asked me to install flash player. When the installer comes up, again, no mouse control. Have to go manual at that point.

In case you're wondering, it's not just with installers that this happens, those were just 2 examples I used. Any idea what's going on?

I would say that is because of UAC most likely... Pinnacle cannot send signals to admin-level processes unless it is also running with admin-level permissions. Try right-clicking on PGP and go to "run as administrator" and see if that resolves the issue.

Yeah that did it. Do you by chance know if there's a way to set it up so that any/every program you start up is automatically run as an administrator?

If you are talking per-program, then right-click the shortcut and you can set it up in "Properties"

If you want all your programs to have admin rights, you can lower your UAC protection (to "never notify"). Just type "uac" into START MENU > SEARCH
