    window 7 not working :-(

I just loaded the 30 day trial on 32 bit windows 7, and the program installed just fine. I downloaded a profile for Dream Pinball 3d, and imported it, and it worked fine. THen I have another game blackhawk striker 2 (its a side scroller where you basically only need to use the left and right arrow keys and forward and back arrows to move all around the screen, and the spacebar to fire. There is like a special key to use like a super bomb...but that is it.

Well I created a new profile, and dragged and dropped the shortcut for the game onto the hotspot in PGP GUI. Then I try to click on "Edit Configurations" button and everytime it crashes!!!! And throws me out of the program.

Does anyone have any suggestions what I can do here? I thought I could import a file for it, and then just edit it to do the few basic movements I mentioned above. I dont care how I make it work....I just want to get this one other game to work for now.

Also, I am using the most current versoin. I just downloaded from website a little bit ago. When I first started up the program it said soemthing about finding a new update, and I said to go ahead and do it. So I should have the most recent version, for better or worse.

Hopefully that will be the beginning and end of my problems. I only wanted this software for 2 games. Maybe something else in the future. But it will be worth the price for sure, just to get two of my favorite games working on the windows 7 PC, with the xbox 360 controller

Thanks for making such ingenious software package.

That should not be happening. Rob will have a look at this problem.

Please go to START MENU > RUN and enter: %APPDATA%\PowerUp Software\Pinnacle Game Profiler\ then ZIP all the files and folders there and send them to support@pinnaclegameprofiler.com or you can post your log file info right here from the same folder.

after reading some things on this forum, I saw someone who said they turned off the tablet PC service. SO I stopped it, and clicked the Edit Configuation button, and guess what it worked. I have no idea why stopping that service would make the edit configuration service work. Something must be accessing a shared resource, locked file? I dont know. I am a programmer, but since I dont know anything about what that part of the program is doing, I have no idea why it would be crashing like that. Unless I really dug into using some process explorer and File I/O event logger, which in real time, shows me what files and resources, registery key etc are being used. I have been down that road several times before. Thankfully I didnt need to do it in this case.

SO the rest of the good news is that...I was able to create a new empty profile for my black hawk striker 2 game (the best side scroller game ever),

And then once I got into the editor, I got to see just how slick the program is. I used something to do a quick mapping of the keys on my keyboard (dont remember what it was called exactly) and just pressed the spacebar, and it mapped the spacebar to several buttons I wanted on the joystick. Also I saw some default settings that mapped the thumb sticks to the arrow keys on the keyboard!!!

Man that was awesome!....and I played one of my games and did better than ever because of using the slick Xbox 360 controller...and mashed up the enemies real good

Well Once I got the new game setup, I turned on the tablet PC service again, I need it running all the time ...or at least most of the time. I will assume now that the new game profile is created, that I dont have to worry about this problem anymore. Because I dont plan on creating any new profiles....but if I do, well I think I know the answer. Just turn off the Tablet input service, and create the new game profile. And then I can restart it again after creating the new game.

Hopefully this will help someone else too, who is searching for a Windows 7 crashing issue, or Program has stopped responding issue.

Yea, it is strange that Tablet service causes any problem, but I wasn't able to track any problem in the code. I wonder if by any chance you can use Edit Configurations now that the profile is setup and working? Probably not, but if so then that could help to know.
