Smile My brand new Logitech Attack 3 Joystick

On the evening of Saturday February 04, 2012 I went by a real close friend of mine to repair his PC and while there fixing it (I did repaired and fixed his PC) well what do ya know, he gave me (without any hitch) his brand new Logitech Attack 3 Joystick which was still in the box and sealed, so I brought it home and opened it and to my surprise it was in tip top working condition.

Every button and the throttle is working excellent even the joystick movement is smooth. Well as anything else the first thing I did is hooked it up to my PC and opened up PGP, at once it was recognized and did the walk through in the Device Settings but at first it was not reading correctly because it was picking up my throttle as analog but the problem was my fault. I went back again and did the reconfiguration and I finally got it with the right settings to work in PGP.

What I'm going to do is start taking most of my profiles that is already made and try to configure it for the Logitech Attack 3 Joystick because this gaming device is not a Class Alpha device.

This one is a rather cheap model, 35€ here in Germany. As it doesn't have a rudder control (twisting the stick left/right by moving the wrist) and obviously no coolie hat (POV), I think buying this one would have been a bad decision (or better was for Errol's friend).

A Thrustmaster T.16000M for only a little bit more money has a coolie hat, rudder control, better ergonomics and this H.E.A.R.T. Technology. Also the Cyborg V.1 has at least rudder control and a Coolie Hat and is a bit cheaper.

Errol... this is my first post! congrats on the freebie jstick!

I use a thrustmaster hotas x every weekday, as i'm an alpha/now beta tester in a great mmo called 'world of warplanes', from wargaming.net, who also made the popular 'world of tanks'

I've d/led the pgp 30 day trial 2 days ago, (i LOVE the customization possibilities!) and since then have been steadily trying to get only the one feature that i need to work = sniper assist

I've successfully (very easily, btw!) gotten the hotas x correctly registered, even with the dual rudder axises (one rocker on the throttle and twist on the grip) and i'm certainly able to run pgp as admin

I'm pretty sure i'm running pgp as admin, because the top line in pinnacle.log says "blah blah blah = admin", so that's the easy part

I used the shortcut feature to drag/drop the wowp launcher, and later changed the target to the actual .exe, bypassing the launcher, when i initially saw no changes.

I've rightclicked on the exe and chose 'run as admin' on both the launcher first, and then the exe after i later changed the path, attemping to get sniper to work

(there's probably no easy way to doublecheck that the wowp.exe executable is actually running as admin, is there? prob not.... sigh)

Anyway, i was easily able to assign the behavior for the aim-down-gun (called 'zoom' in-game) to the correct jstick button, and, after i realized there was no slow-down, i later assigned the same behavior to another non-zoom button, just so i could more easily see if there were any slow-down effects.... no joy!

I played with 'press' and with 'hold' options... nothing
I added events that moved the slow-down effect to 5% (or should i have moved it UP to 95%?... that was unclear)... nothing

I've clicked on 'use hooks', but lost all joystick control in-game. so i had to immediately remove the hooks

To sum this whole post up...I would gladly paypal a pgp expert to spend some time looking at my configs with me

and to make it harder... because wowp is in closed beta, the expert would not be able to recreate what i am seeing (or not seeing) in-game
however, WG's original product 'world of tanks' runs the same BigWorld engine... so it might be possible for a non-beta tester to test pgp in WoT?

i'm now an expert at making a pgp change, saving the change, reloading the profile, running the game from the pgp taskbar and testing that change in-game, then exiting
i've spent more than 6-7 hours trying different pgp options... sigh

we could run teamviewer while we doublecheck my feeble attempts at commands and behaviors
I have unlimited cell minutes, if they were in the US, or run skype if they were not

If you wouldn't mind, please post here... also email me directly at michael.gwynn[~at~]gmail.com and let's talk about how generous that i could be to someone that could help me get sniper assist running in world of warplanes!
