    Switch App & Xbox 360

I have been testing Pinnacle Game Profiler for the past few days and have found it to be one of the most extensive applications out there and some congratulations are in order. In my opinion it has the most promising and flexible future of all the available profile apps out there. During my testing, however, I ran into two, possibly three, areas of improvement. And I am wondering if they would even be on the road map for future development.

    1) Switching the active profile based upon the foreground window/app
Once a profile is activated is seems to stay active as long as the EXE is running. This causes problems if you would like to use Pinnacle inside a game launcher that stays active after launching the desired game. (see previous post)

    2) Take advantage of the Xbox 360 Guide button
Yes, I know that Windows does not give access to the Guide button via normal XInput or DirectInput channels. I have, however, been able to read the Guide button by using some of the undocumented XInput DLL calls and would be willing to assist in this area. (Its not clean, but it is possible)

    3) External command interface
If #1 is not feasible would it be possible to provide an interface via CLI or DLL to tell Pinnacle to switch profiles manually?

Once again complements on Pinnacle as it is a very impressive application.

Amen for the guide button! It's really the ideal button to use for system-type functions, so support would be much welcomed.

As for (3), you can already send commands to the program through the CLI.

As long as you don't have PGP set to open multiple instances, you can communicate with PGP even when it's open. I'm not sure how it would work if you have multiple instances enabled.

As for issue (1) then, you can use the CLI. Have you Game Launcher profile as your default profile and set your launcher to trigger a shortcut to PGP with -launch[ProfileName], which should trigger the profile for as long as that application is active.

Switching based on the foreground window is something that has been requested before, but there are some problems with that since it would not be very quick to switch. There are plans to one day have something like this but it will take some other changes to make it work at a speed that is reasonable.

As for reading the XINPUT GUIDE button, if you have info on how to do that with XINPUT (as in not replacing the driver) then I would LOVE to hear what you have. Please send an email to support@pinnaclegameprofiler.com and we can talk it over and see what can be done.
