    Game information:

Battlefield 3 (commonly abbreviated to BF3) is a first-person shooter action video game developed by EA Digital Illusions CE and published by Electronic Arts. The game was released in the USA on October 25, 2011 on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and EA Mobile confirmed a port for the iOS platform. It does not support versions of Windows prior to Windows Vista. It is a direct sequel to 2005's Battlefield 2, and the eleventh installment in the Battlefield franchise. The PC release is exclusive to EA's Origin platform.

    layout:

    Instructions:

    1. Goto your "Mydocuments"-folder (Start->"Documents" or "MyDocuments" ) and look for "Battlefield 3"
    2. Go into the "Battlefield 3"-folder and also into the "settings"-folder, where you will see 4 files. Look for "PROF_SAVE_profile"
    3. Copy your "PROF_SAVE_profile" to somewhere safe and delete or rename the one from the "settings"-folder
    4. Open BF3 R3H4B V1.7.zip
    5. go into folder "Copy to mydocuments- Battlefield 3- settings- folder" and copy the "PROF_SAVE_profile" from the zip file to your "settings"-folder in your Mydocuments

Note: This will reset your Display and audio settings! You will have to re-configure them once after starting the game but don't touch or reset the control settings! If you did this correctly the joystick controls in the game options should be empty.

    6. Import the .pin from the zip
    7. Enjoy the game

BTW: If you have cloud saving enabled in BF3, you will need to select "Use local data" upon after making the required changes to your settings.

QWERTZ-keyboard users: Go into the game control options and change all references from the "Z"-key to the "Y"-key (on all tabs) to get crouch working properly.

    Hope you like it.

Thanks buddy. As stated, I did not test everything (i have not played MP yet) so probably some things will come up. I'd appreciate your help with support

Since BF3 supports the controller right out of the box I was curious as to why you would need to make a profile for it? Is there an advantage to your setup over the vanilla BF3 controls?

One suggestion rehab, and this is the only addition I made to the vanilla BF3 controls, set the "spot" button to the left trigger (zoom) and set it to repeat at the second slowest interval. In multiplayer it will continually "spot" things whenever you are looking down your sights, which for me is quite a bit of time and it's way easier than reaching for that back button. It's an easy easy way to wring a few extra points out of a match.

I assume you have only played the MP yet? SP is unplayable without keyboard as Dice forces you to press certain keys at scripted times. Also, I've heard that the MP needs a mouse for the loadout menu (haven't checked this myself yet). This profile is of course also usable for people with a controller that isn't supported by the game.

That sounds like a great idea indeed! Hopefully I have some time to play some MP tonight. Will look at adding this spot enemies idea as well, thanks!

I tried assigning the spot button to the same button as zoom, but it results in the game quickly going in and out of zoom. Having spot on back/select seems fine. I'm just happy to have it mapped on the controller at all!

Rehab, for the most part your profile is pretty good. It's solved the issue with menu navigation and spotting. I'm still wrestling a bit with the feel of the look stick. It still seems like the acceleration of it is off. I went into the profile and adjusted the dead zone down to 15% and it seems a bit better.

I did notice that there is a problem with vehicle gunner controls. If you are in a gunning seat, the look sensitivity is really low and it's reversing the left and right shoulder buttons. Also, it's using the buttons and not the triggers for zoom and fire (which the game does on it's default controller support as well for whatever reason).

Thanks for the feedback. Yes I set acceleration off, I know it comes down to personal preference. You can also experiment with the acceleration/sensitivity settings in the game options. If more people have issues with the acceleration being off, I can adjust the profile to have it on on default.

Yes, I have duplicated the exact Xbox controls. The reason for the zoom and fire on the bumpers is that you are in a vehicle. In a vehicle the triggers are used for Accelerate/decelerate. Regarding the changed sensitivity in a vehicle: again, that must be the game. You can check it with the mouse. The mouse will probably do the same. I can't change that.
Edit: yes, confirmed. vehicle gunner controls are slower with native support also.

Are you sure the bumpers are reversed compared to the original controls? If so, I can change them..
Edit: yes, just confirmed this, will modify the profile. Expect an update in a few hours
