Have you tried using a different profiling software with this? Something like joy2key or controlmk or xpadder - if your modded controller works properly with one of them but not with PGP, then it may help to track down where the problem is.

I just tested my controller with JoytoKey -- It works perfectly.

Ok, well if you are still interested in tracing this problem then go to START MENU > RUN and enter %APPDATA%\PowerUp Software\Pinnacle Game Profiler\ then ZIP all the files and folders there and send them to support@pinnaclegameprofiler.com ... then I can make a custom tester version for you to do tracing for what's happening with that device. But just so you know, that could take a while to do.

I think there may be a more subtle underlying problem here. You see, just for kicks I tested setting up an old Logitech Extreme 3D Pro with PGP on my system and *I ran into all the same problems*, except this time it was even worse, with some axes sporadically not even being detected at all.

PGP worked fine with this joystick on another Windows XP SP3 machine and for the record I'm running PGP under Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, but I don't think that's the problem.

I think the issue may be that PGP has a problem with the USB controller in my chipset and/or its driver. I have a custom built system with an ASUS Crosshair IV Extreme motherboard and an AMD 1090T processor. The chipset is the 890FX northbridge + SB850 southbridge.

Any thoughts?

Now I have doubts about the above.

I tested the same Logitech Extreme 3D Pro with PGP on a Toshiba Satellite M305-S4910 running Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit and housing a Core 2 Duo T6400 processor with a Mobile Intel GM45 Express Chipset and *I got the same behavior as above, when the Logitech joystick was plugged into my system.*

Two controllers not functioning? Except one on a 32-bit XP machine? Obviously there's more going on here than "my controller is not behaving properly."

Actually, it's not mine. Also, it works with PGP under Windows XP SP3 32-bit but not on different Windows OSs on different machines. If you combine this with the fact that my Panther XL is not working with PGP then wouldn't it be safe to say that you're jumping to conclusions on *both* controllers being broken when probability and Occam's Razor both indicate otherwise, especially given the fact that both work perfectly with games that support joysticks and the Logitech joystick works with PGP and Crysis 2 under Windows XP SP3 32-bit?

I just tested out a Logitech Gamepad F310. PGP had no problem with that on my machine or the Vista Laptop but the XP machine couldn't find a "driver" so I think we can assume if I would have installed some proprietary Logitech gaming software that PGP would have worked there as well.

PGP seems to work fine with gamepads.

The joystick buttons seem to be associated in some way with Joystick #2.
When I'm in the "Edit Configurations" window and I press a key and hold it at first nothing happens, then briefly the corresponding key will light up on the image guide before a selection box pops up over the [no command] under Joystick #2.

In fact, the selection box will constantly pop up even if I don't press anything.

What's going on here? :P

When you are on the main launcher window of PGP... on the DEVICE dropdown box, do you only see a single entry there? What do you see there?
