Arrow Bioshock profile for Playstation 2 Controller

Here is a profile that i made for the PS2 controller. Its similar to the XBOX360 buttons. For this to work you will have to change in the in-game button config:

Switch to and fire weapon - Left Mouse Button
Switch to and fire plasmid - Right Mouse Button

Feel free to use this or change it for the better.

I've just realised that depending on what kind of ps2 to pc converter you have the button config may be different. Mine are:

    triangle - button 1
    circle - button 2
    x - button 3
    square - button 4
    L2 - button 5
    R2 - Button 6
    L1 - button 7
    R1 - button 8
    Select - button 9
    Start - button 10
    L3 - button 11
    R3 - button 12

Therefore this post is probably entirely useless! Oh well.

Thanks for this - I have a xbox360 controller but much prefer using the PS2 controller where possible.

The button mappings are the same as my converter - and there is an imageguide that matches our config so it must be fairly common.

Actually MOST of the PlayStation adapters out there will use the same (or close to) the same buttons. So even if your adapter were different, it would still be pretty close to your original layout... and furthermore, there is a new feature in Pinnacle v4.0 that can be used to "set" the button numbers for PlayStation controllers, thus ALL ADAPTERS can have 100% matching layouts after everyone is updated to Pinnacle v4.0, so I'm sure this will still be very useful.

And also in case you didn't know, Pinnacle can also convert this profile to MANY MANY other controllers too, such as Xbox360 controllers, Rumblepad2, etc.

This is great to hear. I was toying with the idea of putting a thought forward for this type of feature as I didnt know it existed.

Does this conversion automatically take place dependant on the controllers you have installed, or is there a sub-utility somewhere that you can tell what to convert the profile to?

For example, if a user has created a profile for a game with only the Xbox360 config, does Pinnacle see that I also have a Playstation controller installed so it will let me import the Xbox config as PS2 and do the conversion on the fly?

PS. Sorry for the hijacked thread.

There is really no need for that, just import this PIN file and uncheck all the configuration/controller boxes and then it will only import the command set.

There is no command set data on this pin. (I'm using the beta version of PGP but i doubt that has anything to do with it.)

I made my own i'll upload it now

this is the information in the original .pin posted in this thread

Hmmm... ok, now I see what you mean. The profile haha216 posted uses 'Quick Assignments', so there is no command set (with named commands).

So I downloaded yours, but I noticed a big problem... you have KEY PRESS steps in BOTH the PRESSED and RELEASED event lists. That means for instance, you press the button on your gamepad, and it sends a SPACEBAR press to the computer... then when you release the gamepad button... it's going to send another SPACEBAR press.

I think instead what you meant to do (and is recommended) is to use KEY DOWN and KEY UP steps (instead of KEY PRESS steps). That is to put a KEY DOWN in the PRESSED event step and a KEY UP in the RELEASED event step. Also I noticed that "Reload" and "First Aid" both were setup to send the keyboard key F... so one of those must have been a mistake. I moved "Reload" to keyboard key R (since that is fairly common).

And finally, I also created some Joystick Commands and Cycle Commands that I think would be useful, and I even created a quick configuration you guys can try. I haven't even played this game, but I've setup a lot of configurations before, so I just set it in the way I think would probably work well for this game. So if you want to try out the config (or just the fixed command set), you can download it below...
