Should the gadget still work with the latest Profiler

I was using the Gadget on Windows 7 64 but since using the v5 beta and now the final, it reads the games but won't launch them and instead of showing the profiles it shows a number. Is this a problem with the gadget or could it be something wrong on my end? Regards Rob

Well Pinnacle v5.x should have updated your gadget so it could be compatible... maybe the update didn't work as expected (or it could be another problem I suppose). I think if you open your gadgets window you should be able to find the Pinnacle Gadget version number... please tell me what version you see there.

Hi Rob, it shows v1.3. I have noticed that Pinnacle is in C:\Program Files (x86)\KALiNKOsoft\Pinnacle Game Profiler and other User and ProgramData shows PowerUp Software. Does that matter? Does the gadget work in both 32 and 64bit sidebar.exe? It used to work and I tried uninstall gadget and I have re-downloaded and re-installed but so far no joy. Regards Rob

Yea, I think v1.3 should be the latest version... although I don't think I've ever tested the gadget on Windows7 or on even Vista 64-bit... only on the system it was built on for Vista 32-bit... although gadgets are pretty simple so I would expect it to work. Anyway, I will need to run some tests to see if I can find any bugs when running on those systems...

Thanks for the reply. I've gone back to using the Pinnacle icon on the taskbar and running @startup. I did try it with both 32 and 64 sidebar.exe no difference I think it might have something to do with the choose config menu as it shows a string of numbers instead of the profile names which it used to show before v5. With PGP not running and clicking play PGP tries to start then closes (process only nothing on screen). Regards Rob

Ok, well there are some problems I've found now... so I'm working to fix them, hopefully a new gadget version can be ready soon with the new program version.

    Vista Gadget

I'm just curious. Whats the point or fascination with this gadget?
Sometimes it's as hard to figure out what question to ask as it is to understand the answer

At first it started as a fun side-project, but after getting feedback from our community, we're now looking to use it to improve the game manager features of PGP. This will receive some attention as soon as PGP 5.1.0 is released.
