where do you save the gadget?
You don't go out looking for a job dressed like that do you? On a weekday
You can save it anywhere... just save the ZIP somewhere (My Documents will do) and then extract the .gadget file from the .zip, after that you can just double-click to run the .gadget file... Vista knows a .gadget file is to install a gadget, so it will display a message to ask you if you want to install it as soon as you run the file.![]()
can we be expecting one of these for the google desktop sidebar? I'm running XP and would love this little gadget but there is no way to emulate a vista sidebar on xp that uses the same gadgets![]()
Well Vista gadgets are actually like "mini-websites"... that is they are written with HTML and JavaScript. So if the Google Gadgets work the same way, then I should be able to port it right over...
lol nevermind, i got an accual rtm vista sidebar to run on XP. so its all good.
over 3000 views and 15 big replies!well, I like it. works like it should. I think vista is slowly catching on, the sidebar is a nice addition to the OS especially for gamers. I have an evga8800gt overclocked to 700/2000... it's smoking fast and I can keep an eye on all my OC info and temps and custom fan speeds from the sidebar. what's not to like

Anyhow, good job! it's a little wider than all my other gadgets. font and color configurability would be so cool too...
Maybe I will go back and work on a new Gadget version when I find some time, but I am pretty busy right now working on other things (since I always have a lot of things on my "to-do" list)
I know its been a while, but I do have a suggestion for the vista gadget if you are taking them =). I have my pinnacle autorun at startup, and I have the pinnacle gadget stuck on the desktop. I have selected the option to run the .exe of the game, and what I intended on doing was having that gadget my quickstart to all my games. What ended up happening is everytime I load a profile through the gadget is it opens up another pinnacle program window and then loads up the .exe. It does this even when I uncheck "Allow multiple instances of Pinnacle". It is not a problem, but if the gadget keeps on opening up new instances of pinnacle, I guess it would be easier to go through the launchwindow than the gadget launcher.
Hmm... I don't think it should be opening multiple instances if you do not have the "allow multiple instances" setting enabled. I will have to look into this more...
