    HELLO! ....been a LONG time!

I've been using PGP for many years and am a happy customer! I finally upgraded to Windows 7 so it looks like I'll have to upgrade my old software which I bought ca 2005. I can't wait to see the changes in the latest software because I've never upgraded in 5 years.....hey, the old software worked PERFECTLY for me for this long....unreal, eh?

I bet I'm a grandpa on these forums! LOL

Hey Hyper, how have you been? It's good to see some of the original faces on the forum pop back in from time to time. 2005 was PGP's first year of release, so if you are still using a version you downloaded in 2005 then I'm not sure you would even recognize the software after you update (every major release has added TONS of new features, so if you are still using a very old version then there are TONS of TONS of new features) Anyway, hopefully you will enjoy the new version!

WOW! The original version! LOL Well, it worked for me perfectly for all this time so why mess with a good thing? With Win7 it looks like I'll have to upgrade. Is my original key still good for the new version?

    Great news!!!!

Thanks for the welcome back. I'll give you a little....

Without pgp I would have quit gaming in 2005. Up until then I had joystick support in the games I played. It's funny how game companies just seem to have forgotten about us "alternative input" people. ALL THEY GENERALLY SUPPORT IS KEYBOARD AND MOUSE. To them I say loudly: KEYBOARDS ARE FOR TYPING AND NOT GAMING!!!!!

I have a rather unusual setup for FPS games that has made me a very successful online player for almost 20 years now. My secret to owning young punks all these years? :P ........

Instead of using the keyboard with the left hand I use a sidewinder joystick. My right hand is on the mouse. I'm able to actually pull off combination moves that are impossible with a keyboard....unless you have six fingers on your left hand and can bend them like a twister match. LOL If you think about it, it's easy to understand....I've explained it many times:

If you're using a keyboard, you momentarily have to forfeit a direction key to hit a function key. It may be only a split second, but there's still a delay. I never have to! For example: I can move in any direction and simultaneously have 8 buttons available to me on my left hand without breaking my stride in ANY direction. I also have 9 button functions available on my mouse....that 17 functions in total without having to sacrafice movement OR aim...and no chance of accidental key hits on a crowded keyboard.

Without PGP and my sidewinder - online, competitive gaming would have ended for me in 2005. I was being forced to use a keyboard in all the games I liked! PGP is a GODSEND for me....it's really one of the most amazing pieces of software I've used and I've been using computers for 35 years.

Hyper let me tell you something, I'm guilty as charged I use that exact same method, I use my X360 with my left and use my mouse with my right... That version of PGP you got there from 2005 is like the first typewriter they ever made, way way primitive lol to the new version Rob has developed at present and is presently going to release in the next week or so. Man I'm telling you the amount of features this new prog have I myself is still discovering from time to time. I've started using ver 4.9 to present.

In my book (figure of speech) after Microsoft Rob's the best developer I've ever seen to date, what amazes me about him, is he follows up with any technical questions posted in the forums with the right answers and suggestions. Microsoft make there gaming devices and don't even care about making updated drivers to make there devices work on newer systems. Point being, Rob take your devices and make them work via PGP nearly 100% of the time once its recognized by windows. Even recently I saw somewhere Microsoft recommending Rob's software to people who purchase there (Microsoft) gaming devices... The only thing that is lacking for me in PGP is this control that you would have with the actual mouse movement I just don't get that in PGP but I know Rob is working feverishly to perfect that feature in PGP... you know in those console when you are in battle and shooting at someone, the right shift stick would lock on to the opponent and you'd be able to hit your target with one shot accuracy, thats the kinda thing I'm looking forward for in PGP. Other than that PGPs the best gaming emulator on the market, there is none like it and second to none.

Indeed....Rob Rocks! I still have not installed the new PGP, too busy, but I will soon. I'm going to have to have a key sent to me, I can't find mine at first look.

I no desire to replace my mouse or change it's functionality, it works beatifully. I cannot aim worth crap using a joystick. IMO, the mouse is a superior aiming device. After trying some 100 different mice over the years, I've settled on the Logitech MX-518 wired mouse with a Func Pad....the best mousing surface ever made.
