If GTA is fully compatible with your controller, you should be able to just use GTA's in-game options menu to setup the controller. Or you could just use SAAC which is pretty easy to use, have you tried using SAAC to setup your PS2 controller?

oya i used SAAC but i dont know if its exact same controls as the ps2 version

when im accelerating in the car it always changes the camera angle to look from on top of the car whenever i accelerate with X with SAAC running, but when im not running SAAC, it doesnt do that, is there a solution to this?
also, is there a way to enter cheats through the gamepad and not through the keyboard?

also i have a problem with teh forklifter mission, cant lift up the crates

Use the diagrams above to setup your controller like the PS2 controller. Since I don't have your controller, I really don't know why the camera is moving like that... but I did not make the program SAAC.EXE so I really cannot troubleshoot problems for it.
For help setting up SAAC, please visit the author's forum.

Hold the left trigger to auto-aim and the right trigger to fire the weapon.

I tried to get this to work with GTA:SA v2.00 (the newest version in the stores) but it keeps crashing on me. I did figure out it is crashing with SAAC on. Is there anything I can do about this? Will I still be able to use my 360 controller with v2.00 without SAAC?

Sorry, but I dont think SAAC can work on newer versions of GTA. Because of the Hot Coffee mod, there are now apparently measures in the game to make sure external programs do not modify GTA's memory. You could try searching the author's forum, but I did not find anyone who said they managed to fix the crash. http://toca.game-editing.net/forum/
You could still use Pinnacle alone to get a pretty good configuration, but not quite as perfect as when coupled with SAAC.

What's the advantage of using Pinnacle along with San Andreas Advanced Control? As far as I can tell, Pinnacle isn't really needed if you're using San Andreas Advanced Control.
