Rumble Pad 2 (Wired) Dpad on San Andreas only doing movement
Hi, trying to get this to work. Right now the Dpad along with Joystick 1 is controlling movement. Anyway to get the Dpad to control say the same functions that are in your xbox360 controller ini? Does this involve using saac also?
I edited this post quite abit, at the time I didn't realize how many other things are actually used on the Dpad.
Thx
Update - 04.26.07
Ended up using PGP with SAAC and got everything working well now. Would be nice to have all the controls with just PGP. Is that not possible?

Hello, glad to hear you got things working. Yes, you could create a Pinnacle only profile that does not use SAAC... but to get the absolute perfect control for GTA:SA, you should use both. Some versions of GTA:SA do not work with SAAC, so there are no-saac alternative profiles available, but if you were able to use SAAC with your version of GTA, then I think you'll want to use the combination so everything is working perfectly (as there are some things that only saac can do and there are some things only Pinnacle can do, thus together all problems are solved perfect).

Thx for the response. As I've played the game more, I see your point as to why to use SAAC with PGP.
I am still interested in knowing how to actually set PGP up. So that I could use the dpad for say something simple to start, the radio? Im just not grasping that yet with PGP.
I had read another post on the forums about the updated San Andreas not being compatible with SAAC. Luckily, my PC is playing the stock v1.0 quite nicely. Thx for mentioning that tho.
Enjoying PGP and my new gamepad. Def a nice investment for the money.

Well the SAAC+Pinnacle profile for GTA:SA is unlike normal profiles... usually you would have many commands in your Pinnacle profile that were built around the keyboard/mouse signals that the game responds to... then you can change around the buttons and dpad very easily through Pinnacle's interface; however, with the SAAC combination, it's a little different. Instead of creating commands with the keyboard keys that the game responds to, you need to use the keys that SAAC responds to (since SAAC is reworking the signals before they reach GTA). So when I originally set this up, I simple assigned 2 keys for the triggers in Pinnacle... in this case LEFT CTRL and DELETE. Then I went into SAAC's options menu and assigned LEFT CTRL and DELETE to the commands that I wanted the triggers to perform. So Pinnacle sends the keyboard keys (LEFT CTRL and DELETE) to SAAC and then SAAC interprets the command and tells GTA:SA what it should do. So you see adding SAAC has changed the way the profile works because SAAC is in the middle. In this case, if you wanted to change around the DPAD assignments, you can do that in SAAC and unless you change the triggers, you don't need to adjust the Pinnacle profile. Of course you could complicate things by using Pinnacle for things other than the triggers, but since SAAC should be setup to handle everything else, then it would just make things more confusing probably. But I think EVERYTHING should already be setup with SAAC+Pinnacle, so it's just like the game on the PS2 console... but you should be able to change the radio and such already. If you just want to mix around which buttons/dpad does which actions, you can do that from within SAAC as I mentioned, but everything from the radio to controlling gang members should already be assigned and working from the start with the SAAC+Pinnacle combination profile you downloaded.
