    Finally looked into it --

It's a glitch with GTA:SA 3.0 Steam version. IF you're having trouble swimming, turn on the "frame limiter" which is a setting in the display options. Funny that it effects the game. That's it!

Did you copy the gta_sa.set file to the correct location?

Well I think you should double-check to make sure it's in the correct document folder, cause I think there is more than 1 copy of that file on your system and sometimes people overwrite the wrong copy... but I haven't had this game installed in a long time, but I would suggest you double-check. But it's also possible that the version of your game is not compatible with that file, cause I think the developers change things around in different versions. If you haven't tried the SAAC version yet, you might have better luck with that one.

I know this thread is older than the dickens, but I just got a wired 360 controller to use with GTA San Andreas (and other games) after using the keyboard for a while (hurts my hands after a couple of hours which is why I'm switching).

I downloaded this and was wondering what buttons make you switch weapons and crouch. Or is there a guide that shows what works with what? Because I've only figured out a few.

(I can't use SAAC as much as I'd love to; I used it fine with a keyboard in the past, but now it makes the game crash every time I open it up.)

Well, that's strange. I installed the profile (the sans SAAC, of course), but in game, the only button that seems to work correctly is the sprint/A button. D-pad doesn't work as illustrated, left joystick doesn't crouch or move freely (instead, the D-pad is controlling movement), and fire weapon/B is actually the X button. What went wrong?

Hmm... are you sure you copied the gta_sa.set file to the correct location?
