Balloons and Icons
We've added icons to the controller configuration screen to make it more user-friendly. Mouse over any icon, and you'll see a pop-up balloon containing detailed information about the assignments made to that particular button (or other control on the device). The data displayed through this interface applies to the following features:

Command Notes command-notes

Command Notes are a recently added feature in PGP that can be attached to any command. Mousing over the icon will display the notes in a balloon. These notes can be especially helpful if you are designing your profile to share with other users.

Sticky Controls sticky-control

Sticky Controls were first introduced in PGP 5, but now with the new dx override features of PGP 6, they are more useful than ever before. When this feature is enabled, it affects the way Pinnacle interprets a control's behavior. Push a button once, for example, and it's treated as if it were held down. Push it again, and it's treated as if it were released. It's possible to create a similar functionality through PGP's Cycle Commands, but this 1-step solution allows you to quickly modify existing profiles to include toggle buttons without having to modify the commands directly.

Sniper Assistant sniper-assistant

Sniper Assistant is a useful new behavior modification introduced in PGP 5. When it's engaged, joystick sensitivity is reduced to help you aim better, so it's perfect for applying this feature to a button that fires an "aim/zoom" command. Prior to this feature being added, this sort of aiming adjustments were commonly added directly to an "aim/zoom" command, but this is much more flexible!

Rapid Fire rapid-fire

PGP 5 offers a new way to for rapid repetition. Rapid Fire affects the way that Pinnacle interprets a control’s behavior. When it’s enabled, Pinnacle treats it as if it were being rapidly pressed and released. (Of course, you can still do rapid repetition at the command level.) Rapid fire has its own icon, as you can see in the balloon. This control, however, has two behavior modifications, so there is a special icon that represents multiple modifications for the control.

Force Feedback Effects force-feedback

Although the icon for Force Feedback Effects was introduced in an earlier edition of Pinnacle, the balloons now display the intensity setting and type of effect.

Cycle Commands cycle-forward cycle-reverse

Cycle Commands now display their constituent commands in order. No more drilling down to see what’s in it. Light blue icons represent forward Cycle Commands, and dark blue icons represent reverse Cycle Commands.

Double Commands double-command

Double Commands now display both the constituent commands and the triggering method. No more drilling down to see what's in it. This also gives you more flexibility in naming your Double Commands. What you might have formerly named "Sector/Galaxy' might now be called "Display Maps".

Note the difference between the triggering method in the image below versus the image above. In the image below, tapping the control will target the next enemy, but holding it down will target the nearest enemy.

Shift-Modes blue-shift red-shift green-shift yellow-shift

PGP 5 now supports four shift-modes per configuration instead of one. You also now have the ability to execute and command and shift at the same time, which you can see in the image below. Button 8 not only trades with the station, but it also shifts the controller into the blue shift-mode, indicated by the blue icon next to the command name, and the description in the balloon.

Customers Speak

I also wanted to comment on the quality of the program.  Excellent sums it up.
